A bunch of adventurers met as they were hired to protect a trade caravan going from Waterdeep to Athkatla
During their trip, they freed a village from a band of nearby Kobolds who routinely kidnapped villagers for sacrifices.
While dealing with the kobold group, they met with Alnar and Tempest, two Genasi who seemed to be at the wrong place at the wrong time.
The adventurers managed to interrupt some sort of resurrection ritual, but not fast enough to prevent the unnaturally big, Frankenstein-like creature made from dragon parts to be brought to life.
The creature was chained to the ritual floor and seemed non-aggressive. As the adventurers tried to decide what to do with the beast, it managed to free itself and flee the scene.
The adventurers continued escorting the caravan .
Among the passengers, they met Lady Adelinde, a widowed noble women who learned from the Spellgard Oracle that the corpse of her husband was to be found in the nearby forest of Trollbark.
The caravan leader agreed to allow the group of adventures to leave for a few days once they reached a nearby small town.
The adventurers decided to brave the troll-infested forest to a clearing where they were confronted by a group of kruthiks and zombies.
After defeating the raised corpse of Aararlo, an ancient heroic gnoll warrior, the heroes found the missing husband among the zombie corpses.
They decided to give the corpse its last rites on the spot and bring back a piece of jewelry to Lady Adelinde as proof of their deeds.
The group was welcomed as heroes in the small village of Windby.
However, Morrigane - the caravan leader - quickly asked for their help. A dragon-like creature, quite similar to the one that escaped our heroes has razed the farmer's village where Morrigane's brother lived.
The heroes reluctantly went to the scene of the carnage only to find that Morrigane and the caravan was a plot to test the heroes' mettle.
They are part of an organization called the Valaistu, vowed to stop some insane creature builders - The Court of the Final Might - from tearing apart the land.
Morrigane's brother's whole city has been razed by one such creature - perhaps the same one that our heroes met earlier.
Morrigane, counseled by Eldak Serpenthelm, decided to go to Spellgard in the hopes of meeting the famed Oracle and gain some insight on how to stop the Court of the Final Might.
On their way towards Spellgard, the heroes crossed the path of Wallice Wighthawk, a bard they seemed to all have met at one point in their lives.
As they were to greet him, they were magically transported to a strange and rather insane world.
In this world, they were forced to fight for entertainment in a large arena as part of a “half-time show” during a ball game opposing zombies to skeletons.
Operating mainly on reflexes and adrenaline, the heroes managed to entertain the crowd and avoid certain death under the deadly wheels of the Zomboni, a strange bio-mechanical death-dealing creature.
After their performance, all the heroes were offered permanent jobs as entertainers in this odd world.
Wallice accepted the offer while the heroes happily took the opportunity to escape the insanity of this realm.
